About Us

Che Jo

But, if you've been to Trinidad, you know it's not only some of the healthiest food on the planet, but the tastiest as well. Trinidad's cuisine is a smelting pot of varying cultures, hence the influence of Indian, Spanish, and African cultures are reflected in most of the country's food offerings.  She began cooking for her entire family before she reached the age of 10. Cooking has always been a passion of hers. Over the years she has thoroughly enjoyed preparing meals, hosting events and entertaining guests at her home. A few years ago, it became evident to her that she should transition her love and passion for this culinary art to a career path. Since then, she has catered several events in the valley. Now her mission and passion is to popularize healthy, authentic Trinidadian caribbean cuisine, and to make it a staple on the mainstream food scene in the Los Angeles area. She is currently working on retrofitting a food truck to make this a reality. Stay tuned!

Joetta Griggs, (Chef Jo), was born on the beautiful island of Trinidad & Tobago, a place where everything was "organic" and produced by local growers. Much of her family's food was grown in their back yard. The only processing it ever saw was the heat of cooking. She often talks about not knowing how good they had it back then. All the nutrients that the sun, rain, and soil gave her produce was usually still present at the dinner table.
